Yats Cajun Creole

I've been to this one, the one at ND and the one in Fishers. All are excellent and have their own feel. This one is rather large and bright. Nice touches throughout and plenty of outside setting for nice weather. The day I was there the guy running the place was excellent. More friendly than I like, but I'm an introvert. Service was excellent. red beans and sausage was great. Highly recommend.

Nice atmosphere. I have tried a lot if different dishes and have not been disappointed!

The French bread is absolutely amazing! This isn't true Cajun food but probably the closest you will find here. I felt that the prices were reasonable and the service wasn't bad either. If nothing else, I'll be returning for the bread.

I love this place. I stop by whenever I'm in IN. They have several vegetarian items on the menu, and everything is good, but the bread is the best. Also, crystal hot sauce is my favorite.

Wonderful place to grab a quick bite to eat. The food is wonderful and the staff is very friendly. If I'm ever back in the area I would definitely stop here again.

This was a great find in valpo because o could not decide why I wanted to eat and I googled restaurants and went here the staff was very nice they gave me samples of the different food options and although somethings were sold out he explained how there menu is set up. You can choose one or two main courses over rice and there are several options of hot sauce to pick from.all for a reasonable price.

Had a great time at the Mardi Gras party on Fat Tuesday. The food was killer like it always is and the live music and New Belgium beer raffles made it very especially enjoyable and memorable!

The food is ALWAYS good. The service is always always always spectacular. My only complaint is, they dont always have everything on the menu. When the run out, you have to wait for the next days batch. But it's always fresh and delicious.

Very nice people I haven't eaten anything other than a piece of peatunt butter pie because it was on sale when I was picking up some food for a doordash customer the food in the bag always smells good and the staff are very nice the pie was amazing.

The food was adequately portioned for the price, which was not expensive by any means. Authentic creole spices and flavors that hit the spot! The creamy sauce helped offset the spice of the food without taking away from it. Also good beer, the taps fill the cups from the bottom, it's cool to watch.

I love this place and all of the choices. It makes me feel like I'm not in Indiana with only burgers for an option. The staff was pretty chill and they make some mean etouffee!!!

Awesome place with awesome Cajun food! You will not regret coming here! Very close to VU campus for those who are visiting the university or coming to see their students.

I went here with my brother . The food was great ,I had the jambalaya and he had the gumbo .Staff was very helpful and friendly. They even offered a sample if you are not sure about something. Prices are good. I will be back.

Enjoyed the chili cheese etouffee. Husband loves their bread. Nice staff. Clean and cute.

I have been there one time. I have never had Cajun food before and it was really good. Prices aren’t bad for what you get. Staff was friendly, and courteous.

I thought it was just ok. My wife and mother in law weren't really a fan. Mother in law eats just about anything but only ate maybe a third of her portion. The bread and whatever the butter was is great.

If you like Cajun food, go here. If you don't like Cajun food, go here anyway because you could just be confused. Great staff, good beer selection, and awesome food. They also have the largest selection of hot sauces I've ever seen in my life. Sit outside when the weather is nice, it improves the experience.

Quite a selection of creole food. Very friendly, helpful staff. The food was pretty tasty. Had a peanut butter pie that was delicious! Definitely worth a try if your in the mood for cajun cookin!

This is the second time I have been here. Both time there is no room for disappointment!! Took my son for his first visit to try out. He loved and enjoyed the food as well as I did! Definitely will be returning for great good at an excellent price.

I chose the chili cheese one. I have to agree with a comment I saw that food was literally rice covered with slumpy gravy(maybe can try putting rice around with gravy, or the other way around for better presentation). However, that bread salvaged everything. The bread was EXCELLENT...... Service was nice. Place was clean.

Let's start with the positives. The service here is always good and I really like their bread. The bottom line here though is that this is like an Applebee's that serves Cajun / Creole food that is pre-cooked at another location, frozen and heated up as needed. The other negative is that the choice of food isn't like you would get at a proper Cajun restaurant. It isn't terrible by any means but it is not gourmet food either.

Very friendly staff, comfortable atmosphere, excellent food and portions. Great promotion for unlimited refills on soft drinks. One of the few diners I feel at east and can relax at.

First time there. The food was tasty, but the atmosphere was slightly lacking. It was strange sitting there, just me & my husband with no music or TV sound. Just a bit too quiet.

The food was pretty good! I went back up to order more of their delicious bread. While waitting for my order I made small talk with the employee running the register. I was informed that the food is not actually cooked fresh there. It is simply frozen bagged, and warmed up for us. The bread is fresh... But that's it.

The guy working at the register was polite and helpful with recommendations. He allowed us to taste a small sample before we ordered. The food has soooo much flavor 😍 it was delicious! I had the half and half plate with Drunken Chicken and Carribean Jerk, my friend had the Drunken Chicken and Jambalaya and devoured the plate lol. I'd recommend it to all my friends and plan on returning often ❤

I'm biased...I LOVE YATS! Seriously though, we appreciate that there vegan/vegetarian options on the menu. Another big bonus is that they offer samples, which made dining with a picky eater a lot easier because he was able to choose something he really enjoyed.

Stopped in for lunch while scoping out apartments in Valpo. Loved the fast service and friendly conversation from Robyn - had the cheese etoufee and jambalaya - both tasty and they had three dollar abita beer specials to boot. For just over eight bucks, a huge plate of cajun food was delivered - and tasted pretty darn good for being in the midwest. Robyn explained that the owner hailed from the land of parishes instead of counties like up North, and even gave me some great tips for local brews. Great food and experience - check this place out.
